Alpha Phi Epsilon (Mindoro History)
Born March 14, 2002, it was organized by Sigmund “Aimhigh” Colonia, a student from Central Luzon State University CLSU) and a Full-pledge member of Alpha Phi Epsilon - Alpha Lambda Chapter. He organized a group of fifteen (15) pioneering members (male and female) but only eight (8) members survived. The following school year, an appointment was made, designating Alvin “Adonis” Gulapa as Grand Lord Chancellor and Jennybelle “Jing” Oregano as Grand Lady Chancellor and they become the First (1st) GLC of Pi Sigma Lambda Chapter. In the school year June 2003-March 2004, the members decided to split the leadership into two, the first group will handle the Fraternity while the other, will handle the Sorority. An election was held to give way to an incoming Grand Lord and Grand Lady Chancellor. Rafael “Mow twister’ Dawates and Ronna “Funky” Lastra landed victorious, and as a result had been made the First (1st) Grand Lord and Lady Chancellor elected in the highest position of the chapter. The statistics of APE Members in Mindoro increased due to exemplary behavior and the active participations of the members with the different community activities in the Municipality of San Jose. And on the same year, Pi Zeta Lambda, a Chapter in Ligaya, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro was born, thus making it the first (1st) son of Pi Sigma Lambda Chapter. The following SY June 2004-March 2005, Gil “Recca” Berroya was elected as GLC. Owing to the hard work and unrelenting support of some members of the Pi Sigma Lambda Chapter, Alpha Phi Epsilon was recognized in Occidental Mindoro National College, now known as Occidental Mindoro State College, as the first fraternity recognized in the province and who actively participated in all activities represented therein by the said institution, it is another milestone for APE PSLC, which give way for the members to double their effort in conducting activities in and out of the campus, but an unprecedented incident happened on the last quarter of the SY involving students engaged in Fraternity, consequently the school suspended all fraternities in the campus. In the SY June 2005-March 2006 Dennis “Zinned” Pascual was elected as GLC. The members are still doting on the fact that they should be recognized as an organization in the campus, thus, the existence of members who doted precious time and effort to qualify as an organization within the school campus. Thru the help of Adonis, Jing, Redeemer and Silverdash, the name of APE was changed to Leadership Service Unity Club. Dennis “Zinned” Pascual is still the President and once again the APE is recognized by the campus in the name of LSU Club. With this success, the members continue to hold community and school activities, which are both valuable for the members of the organization as well as with the community. Another chapter in Sablayan was born, it was called the Second (2nd) son of PSLC, the Pi Upsilon Lambda Chapter in Buenavista, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, organized by Edson “Trillanes” Urieta. Due to some conflicting ideas and visions for the organization, Zinned decided to step down from office and Virus took over in behalf of Zinned, In the SY June 2006-March 2007 Myson “Killa” Miguel was elected as GLC and during his time, the members of APE - PSLC tripled and in that same year, Delta Lambda Epsilon was born organized by Virus, Arjay “RG” Bacani and Emmanuel “ER” Rosal but lasted only for a year and was dissolved but some of its members were adapted and recognized as APE – PSLC. Same as this year, the third (3rd) son of PSLC was born in Iriron, Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro and was named Pi Omicron Lambda Chapter and organized by Benjie Andrade, In the next school year, June 2007-March 2008, Rafael “Toks” Madrigal was elected as GLC but by the end of First Semester, he step down from office and Grand Master Initiator Jaypee “Mole” Paza was appointed as acting GLC and took responsibility for the whole PSLC until the school year ended and in this year, the fourth (4th) son of PSLC was born in the capital municipality of the province of Mindoro, the Pi Mu Lambda Chapter organized by Jeffrey “Ramviper” Navarro. During this year, the implementation of the First (1st) National Convention held last quarter of 2007, with the intention of renaming the Pi Sigma Lambda Chapter and its other four (4) chapters in the province became a big issue and causes havoc among its resident members. They wanted to opposed the said renaming, resulting to a cold war between PSLC and ALC, and until now its not yet settled. The Alumni was alarmed by the said issue and called an emergency meeting and thru the counsel of Aimhigh, a resolution was made to create Mindoro Council and be independent from Luzon Council or Mindoro will directly report to National Office at Cebu. Even though the resolution was not yet finalized, it was strongly opposed by the officers in Luzon Council and the Alumni in Mindoro formulated a Alpha Phi Epsilon Mindoro Alumni Association and took the responsibility in supervising the Five (5) Chapters in Mindoro and elected Zinned as the President. On the school year June 2008-March 2009, Romualdo “Jun” Lastra was elected as GLC and still the issue of renaming the chapters in Mindoro are strongly circulating because Luzon Council wanted to implement the said renaming immediately thus it became a major conflict between the two Chapters, the Alpha Lambda Chapter and the mother Chapter in Mindoro, the Pi Sigma Lambda. School year, June 2009-March 2010, John Michael “John” Faigao was elected as GLC, and in this year the organization started to feel the diminishing of members. It was pointed out that due to the unsettled issue about renaming; it is the major factor that triggered the members to lie low or not to actively participate. Despite the decline in members, there was an assurance about the quality of the remaining APE full-pledge members, and that they will continue to actively create and be involved in community services. The following SY June 2010-March 2011, Vernon “Inon” Robleado was elected as GLC and took office only for three (3) months in service due to some conflicts. APEMAA took in charge of supervising the APE and on September 2010 Zinned step down informally as President of APEMAA. Aimhigh called a General Assembly and mandated the Alumni and Full-pledge members to do everything in order to survive the different trials that the PSLC are now facing and he declared the PSLC as temporary Council and the result was the birth of the two (2) Pi Sigma Lambda Chapters ,the Pi Sigma San Roque Chapter on October 4, 2010 which was organized by John Michael “John” Faigao and was initiated by Zinned and Pi Sigma Mangarin Chapter on October 25, 2010 , organized by John Rez “Asero” dela Cruz, initiated by Virus and RG. The members of Pi Sigma Lambda Chapter as to date was approximately four hundred (400) including the members of the other four (4) chapters in the province, it does not include those who so not survived the initiation and the quitters.
